| DESCRIPTION | Teak, is a close-grained wood with high natural oil content. It is one of the most durable of all timbers, highly resistant to any rotting and almost impervious to the effects of hot sun, rain, frost or snow. These characteristics combine to make it the ideal timber for all outdoor. When teak trees are cut, their sap helps to preserve the wood, making it both durable and restorable. Teak is one of the most valuable of all woods. |
| DURABILITY | Teak is resistant to climate extremes, insects and fungus. It is not harmed by acids or alkali solutions. Plus, Teak’s inherent silica content and natural oils allow it to weather without the need of preservativesor sealants; not immune to marine borers. |

Grain usually straight, sometimes interlocked; texture rather fine and uniform to coarse and uneven; luster medium to high and golden; distinctive cedary odor , with bitter taste. |
